Jeffrey Lynn Koons is an American artist born on January 21, 1955, in York, Pennsylvania, where he also lives and works, including in New York City. He was inspired to paint by Salvador Dali from an early age. Koons attended the Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore and the Art Institute of Chicago. He is a contemporary artist known for his large sculptures that are pop culture icons depicting mass media items such as toys, birthday gifts, decorations and various other paraphernalia we can find in stores.
Celebration Series (1994–2000)
In the early 1990s, Koons began his signature sculptures as we know him or the Celebration series of his most outstanding sculptures.
